Where Is Patrizia Reggiani Now? Is she still in Jail?

The Ridley Scott movie once again revived people's curiosity about Patrizia Reggiani and her current resident.

Patrizia Reggiani is infamously known for being the mastermind behind the brutal killing of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci.

She was convicted of the murder by the court and was sentenced to 29 years in prison. Patricia attempted to have the verdict reversed, alleging that a brain tumor she had removed a few years prior had impacted her mentality.

In 2000, the Milan court deducted her prison time by three years to 26 years, following her appeal. The same year, Reggiani had a suicide attempt inside the prison. She tied her neck with a bed sheet but the jail authorities found and rescued her.

She was freed in October 2016 after serving 18 years in Jail on good behavior from San Victoria "The Opera" Prison.

"I've never worked in my life, and I'm certainly not going to start now". She declined to take on a work-release program job in 2011. But upon agreeing to the terms in 2014, she once again became a free woman.

As per the article published by The Guardian, Reggiani is currently working at Bozart, a custom jewelry company serving the streets of Milan since the sixties. Furthermore, she is living in a townhouse located somewhere in the city of Milan.

Maurizio Gucci's Murder Cause: What led Patrizia Reggiani take this drastic measure?

Maurizio Gucci was shot four times which resulted in the spot death of the Italian fashion prince.

After nearly a year after the divorce, the socialite Reggiani hired a gunman to take care of Maurizio. She was arrested on the murder charge after two years of the incident.

According to officials, Patrizia aka "Black Widow" had a motive to finish off her husband because of her alleged jealousy and hatred against him at the time. She has had always wanted to take full control of the Gucci Empire which seemed impossible once Maurizio marry her fiancee Paola Franchi.

The forthcoming marriage would have cut her alimony in half, bringing her annual monetary aid to $860,000, which she described as "a bowl of lentils."

Patrizia recruited Benedetto Ceraulo, a pizzeria owner to assassinate Maurizio. "My eyesight is not so good. I didn't want to miss.", she replied to a journalist when asked why she herself did not shoot him.
