In 1995, he left Channel Ten to join rival station Channel Seven Melbourne and where he also worked as a weather presenter. He worked alongside news presenter David Johnston, Jennifer Keyte, and Peter Mitchell.

In January 2008, Brown was replaced by Monique Wright on Sunrise and after continuing with his other duty. Eventually, he quit his role in 2008, and Fifi Box was his replacement.
