Jason William's Career

Initially, Jason William started his playing career in his college days.

College Career

Jason William played for the Dupont Panthers and he became the only player to reach 1000 points and 500 assists.

William enrolled at Marshall University to play for coach Billy Donovan's basketball team from 1994 to 1996. He played well during his freshman year.

When coach Donovan moved to the University of Florida, Jason also decided to transfer and shifted his college. He became the starting point guard for the Florida Gators team where he set a single-game record with 17 assists against Duquesne.

He averaged 17.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 2.8 steals per game through twenty games. Later in February 1998, he was suspended by the University Of Florida twice for testing positive for Marijuana.

Professional Career

After his suspension, Jason make himself eligible for the NBA draft, where he was selected in the first round as the seventh overall pick by Sacramento Kings in 1998. The newcomer William's jersey number 55 was top sellable of all NBA players in that year.

The basketball player Jason was suspended for the first five games of the NBA season 2000-01. The reason was being failure to comply with his treatment obligations under the anti-drug program.

During his career in NBA season, he allegedly shouted racist slurs to Michael Ching, and also cursed his fans to which NBA had fined him. Later he apologized for the incident.

In 2005-2008, William started at point guard for the Miami Heat, playing a total of 59 games. William's trade to Miami Heat was the most considerable in league history. Jason and the team became the third-leading scorer.

In 2006-07, Jason Williams had quality games as he won the Championship over Dallas Mavericks. It was his top big win.

In 2008, he signed with Los Angeles Clippers, on a one-year deal. However, he announced his retirement from the arena due to persistent injuries.

He then returned to the NBA field after a few months after his announcement and signed with the Orlando Magic. He played with the team till 2011.

And he returned to the Memphis Grizzlies, before officially retiring on April 18, 2011.

Jason William announced to play at a 3-on-3 basketball league named BIG3 game on February 1, 2017. He played in the debut game during the event. He missed the rest others due to his knee injury.

He was popularly known for his unorthodox "street" style of play. He regularly tried different styles of play to make his audience entertained.

He was also known for his spectacular passes and assists throughout his career. His dazzling three-point shots drove home audiences wild.

By the end of his time with Memphis and Miami, he became the player with one of the highest assists per turnover ratios in the NBA. which made him known for his assists and of course creativity. 

Throughout his career, he earned a net worth of $20 million. He also had multiple brand endorsement deals to date.
